Baptism Preparation Ministry

If you are interested in helping prepare parents for the baptism of their child, your help would be appreciated. The key quality needed for Baptism Preparation Ministry is welcoming, as we are often one of the first contacts families have with the parish. Through discussions at gatherings, we share our own faith and challenge parents to be good faith role models and teachers to their children.

The goals of this ministry are to educate families about the sacrament of baptism; to welcome families to Holy Cross and familiarize them with the parish; to introduce families to resources/ideas for Christian parenting; to support parents through the baptismal process; and to assist at baptismal celebrations.

The time commitment involved in participating in this ministry is small. Currently four ministry couples share responsibilities for a one-time brief (about 2 hours) small group gathering of parents in our homes (approximately 3-4 times per year per couple). We also assist at all Sunday baptism celebrations in the parish (approximately 4 per year per couple).

Marriage Preparation Program


If you are interested in being a part of our Marriage Preparation Team, we would love to have you join us! This is a ministry of couples to couples and through it, you will strengthen your own marriage and gain new friendships. Ministry couples should be married for several years, have good communicatiosn skills and a sense of humor. As part of the Marriage Preparation Team, you will be paired with another Marriage Preparation Team couple. You will normally meet with engaged couples in three 2 hour sessions, spread over 3 days. Scheduling varies to accommodate the needs of the engaged couples and the marriage preparation team. Team members usually do 2-3 session per year.
