SPIRITUAL SPA
Calling all Women --- Ages 21-101!
An Inter-Generational Opportunity
As a woman, you’ve got incredible
responsibilities. You take care of your family ever day, but how often
do you make time for yourself? Do you wish you could talk with other women,
older and younger, to see how they feel, how they handle things? Do you just wish
you could be whisked away and go off for some time for yourself? Don’t
you need a “SPIRITUAL SPA”?>
The Ministry of Mothers Sharing, “MOMS” is a 7-week
course that offers women of all ages and all stages of
mothering
(wanting children, having newborns, running grade school kids around to
various activities, surviving teenagers, saying goodbye to college age kids,
single and married adult children, step children, enjoying
grandchildren and anything else you can think of!) a SPIRITUAL SPA break. It provides
opportunities to enhance self-esteem, build new friendships and define more clearly a
sense of personal spirituality. One of the most powerful aspects of this program
is the inter-generational sharing. Topics considered in the materials are: self-acceptance, stress, spirituality, feelings, personal growth and friendships. “MOMS” invites
women to reflect on their own experiences, share their stories and realize
more fully the sacredness of the lives.>
Groups run intermittently. Please check the bulletin for dates and times. We run both afternoon and evening groups. There is a one-time registration fee of $25 to cover books and materials. For more information, please contact Mary Ann Spina at the Pastoral Center,
947-945-0430>.
To pique your interest, here are a few quotes from recent groups:>
“It’s hard to find the right words
to describe the MOMS ministry, partly because it is many different
things. I’ve been telling people about it, but feel like I’m coming up
short—instead, I just say, “you should really try it, it’s a great experience.” So think of
it as a magical mix of time away from the daily rush and time spent exploring
the things to cherish in life. Maybe most importantly, it was a time to
refocus. I feel strengthened and renewed. - Melinda Vajdic>
“This was a
great opportunity to meet and get to know other women from our parish
and get to know ourselves a little more too.” - Mary
Ann Urbaszewski>
“I came to view the MOMS group time as an oasis in
an otherwise busy week. I always came away refreshed and
recharged for the next challenge. The materials and the group sharing often
gave me a new perspective on my life and my ministry as a mom. And I got the
best of two worlds - listening to the wisdom of those who have more experience,
as well as remembering and resonating with the joys and challenges of the
younger members!” - Sheryl Stagl >
“Viewing motherhood as a ministry enabled me to feel God’s presence in my everyday
tasks!” - Kay Doyle>
