Parish Mission Statement
We, the community of Holy Cross Catholic Church, are called through
baptism to be a gospel-based community. We gather as a Eucharistic
people to celebrate God's presence among us; to proclaim Jesus Christ
as Lord; to work for peace and justice; and to live as a welcoming
people reaching out through educational, service and social ministries.
Becoming a Gospel-Based Community
The very beginning of our parish mission statement proclaims, "We, the community of Holy Cross Catholic Church, are called through baptism to be a gospel-based community." In order to work toward that goal, we need to read and reflect on the Gospel. We begin all parish meetings by
reading the gospel for the upcoming Sunday. Varying styles of reflecting on the gospel are provided. Among those are questions designed to help us integrate the gospel into our own lives. Each week in the bulletin, we will publish one or two reflection questions along with the citations for next Sunday’s readings. Why not take a few minutes each week to read the Gospel and think about the question for the week as a way to deepen yourfaith and understanding of the Gospels?
