LOAVES :: The 2 Year High School Confirmation Program at Holy Cross

LOAVES is our High School Confirmation Program. So much of religious education is about informing and teaching. In high school, teens are making many decisions independently.

Relationship with God and God’s people is a choice too. If we are forced to live something, more oft than not, we will do so nominally and without desire. But our faith is centered on people entering into a deeply committed and personal relationship with God. When we gather for Mass, it is not to discover God, it is to celebrate God’s presence in our everyday lives!

LOAVES is based on Saint Mary’s Press High School Confirmation Program, Confirmed in a Faithful Community. Most important to the program is coming to choose relationship with God, saying YES! “Yes, I love you God. Yes I choose to be confirmed, to be initiated, as a member of the Catholic faith and to grow in love with my fellow Christian brothers and sisters, all of creation and with you, my Lord and God.”
