This School Board and the PSA both support
the mission of Holy Cross School. That mission is to "provide the
highest quality education so that children will learn to act justly,
love tenderly and walk humbly with God." (Micah 6:8)
The School Board provides support by assisting
in the development of the policies, in harmony with those of the Archdiocese
of Chicago and the State of Illinois, that govern the operation of
Holy Cross School, assisting the Pastor in hiring the principal, reviewing
the annual School Budget, determining sources of funding, providing
counsel and advice in the operation of the school, and acting as the
public relations arm of the school.
The School Board truly welcomes and encourages
your participation in the School Board process. This is why the School
Board reports each month in the PSA Newsletter to let you know about
the issues we are addressing and advise you of upcoming meetings.
You are also encouraged to participate
in the School Board process -- in any or all of several ways:
- Attend a School Board meeting -- September through
May, third Thursday of each month, 6:30pm in the Faculty Room,
Rm # 118 on the first floor.
- Let a School Board member know your thoughts,
as these relate to their areas of responsibility, so that he or
she may bring it to the Board of discussion. The Board member
will get back to you with next steps or resolution.
Consider becoming a School Board member
yourself when in January the School Board advertises upcoming Board
vacancies and begins recruiting candidates.
