Holy Cross Parent School Association

The Holy Cross School Parent School Association assists the school in meeting its educational, social, and spiritual needs by fostering a spirit of goodwill between parents and staff. It promotes excellent communication and understanding between families and school, provides a positive nurturing environment of mutual respect, and provides enrichment and support to the school through active parent participation. Multiple volunteer opportunities are available throughout the year, with services that can be rendered at school during the day, evening, and at home.

PSA is a self-funding organization that provides enrichment in the classroom and throughout the school in many different ways. We have an annual operating budget, which can be viewed in the office at any time. To meet these budgetary needs, PSA is involved in annual fund raising activities, to assure the continuation of these programs. This is achieved through our Ways and Means Committee, which supervises such activities are:

• Market Day

  Market Day offers you a unique way to purchase name brand high quality food items at competitive prices, while providing at least 10% profit for Holy Cross School.

  Each month you'll receive an order sheet in your child's Wednesday bulletin. Complete the form and return it to the school or Pastoral Center. All orders can be picked up at the school on the fourth Tuesday of each month.

  You can also order online or get product information at www.marketday.com. Online ordering is easy, it extends your deadline for placing an order, and it allows for you to easily make changes to your order. (The online order cutoff is noon on the Friday before the Tuesday pickup day.) Also, when you order online, Market Day will send you a reminder about pickup day via e-mail.

   

• Sprit Wear

  Spirit Wear is sponsored by PSA. It is a means of ordering clothing which displays the Holy Cross Logo. Parents and students are encouraged to wear items such as fleece jackets, sweatshirts, t-shirts, etc. to sporting events or general parish activities in an effort to market Holy Cross. In addition to providing the school with invaluable volunteer support, we also help the teachers with additional means to obtain classroom materials to enhance the educational experience of our students, as funds are available.

Positions in the PSA are filled on a volunteer basis, with opportunities presented in the spring of each year. The Executive Board positions are nominated and voted upon in the spring for service during the following school year.
